Jiro Yoshida maintains a website that displays the CPI rental index along with a better, real time, rental index (discussed in our 2022 JMCB paper). The CPI index is too sticky, and lags the actual rental inflation rate. This is not good for the proper implementation of monetary policy, See the data here:
Paul Krugman's monograph Geography and Trade is rightly considered a classic. But the diagrams in Chapter 1 are printed and proofed very poorly, and actually lead the author and reader into error. Properly formatted diagrams are provided here.

My son, Brendan, and my wife, Linda, and I, wrote a novel that sets a detective story within the (probably apocryphal) encounter between the Chinese Imperial Navy and the Meso-American Tarascan Empire in the 15th Century.
